Utilization Management (UM) decision making is based only on appropriateness of care and service and existence of coverage. PAMG IPA does not specifically reward practitioners or other individuals for issuing denials of coverage or service care.

PAMG IPA does not offer financial incentives to UM decision makers that encourage decisions that result in underutilization.
​
Our practitioners are ensured independence and impartiality in making referral decisions that will not influence hiring, compensation, termination, promotion
any other similar matters.

UM Communications
Utilization Management Staff are available from
8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday to answer member and provider questions related to the authorization and referral processes. An After-Hour nurse is available to assist Members after normal business hours and on the weekends.

Who's Eligible To Join Pacific Associates IPA?
To determine if you are eligible to join Pacific Associates IPA, please follow the simple steps below:

Check to see if you have a HMO health insurance plan.

Check to see if your HMO health plan is one of our contracted Health Plan

Check if your primary care physician is one of our contracted providers.
​
If you already have an IPA and want to switch over to Pacific Associates IPA, please contact your Health Plan and ask to switch your IPA to Pacific Associates under your current primary care physicians.
